Well I hope everybody enjoyed Harrogate, what a week, personally the show just gets better every year. It was great to see such a large contingent from the East of England section and it is always good to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. I would like to wish Graeme Macdonald every success on being appointed vice-chairman of the section , I am sure he will put his heart and soul into it, he may even teach the committee some fancy footwork! 2010 is going to be a very hard year for the greenkeeping fraternity, financially I think it will be very tight, golf clubs will still want the course to be in tip top condition despite budget constraints, but as I have said before that�s what makes us the tough breed we are. Finally I would like to advise you of a change to the Harrogate selection process, for 2011 what we would like section members to do is to apply for the trip either to myself or Gary Cooper, after which a short list will be drawn up and the candidates will be interviewed.
