Chairmans Report.

Well another year has come and gone and what a record breaker it has been! We have had the longest dry spell in history for the region while everyone else has been swamped; even big Les in London had water. It has also been a record year for golf day attendance, in the present climate that is something to be proud of, it just goes to show what a strong section we have. Yet another record was set in that the East of England section won the Midland region team champs for the third year in succession, well done to Rob, Rob, and Ash truly a dream team, clinching the trophy at the Belfry made it all the sweeter, for a fleeting moment when I was holding the trophy surrounded by all that history the Ryder cup memories came flooding back (sorry Sean). Also well done to Brian for his exploits in the national tournament and winning the order of merit, what happened to GMac? That’s what marriage does to you mate. Finally well done to Ian Collet for winning the trade order of merit, yes the results are right Gary take it like a man but it was extremely close.
As Christmas approaches are minds will be straying to that north Yorkshire town we all know and love, hopefully you are all booked in; once again Sami and the L&D team have put on an excellent package. The cocktail party is on the Tuesday at the slightly later time of 4 o'clock at Hales bar hope to see you all there.
I would also like to thank all the sponsors this year long may are relationship continue.
Finally I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Slange Allan
