Welcome to the education and training pages.  By Jonathan Knowles

Welcome to the training and education pages.  My name is Jonathan Knowles, I work at Myerscough College as a Training Coordinator.

I've been working at the college for several years travelling and tutoring at many golf clubs in the section.

It’s an honour to be involved with the EofE section, hopefully I can offer a little guidance and perhaps keep the page updated qualification news and hopefully answer a few FAQ's re greenkeeper training.

I'm open to any emails of suggestions or questions that I may be able to help or at least put you in the direction to get a better answer.  Well here's to a happy education and training page.

NVQ Level 4 in Sportsturf

At the start of 2010 Myerscough will be rolling out the Sports Turf level 4 nationally.  It has been around 4 years since it was last delivered nationally and the early signs indicate that it's going to be popular.

The new style level 4 is a sports turf qualification with specialist units on weeds, pest and disease management; and preparing for a tournament; and course policy documents.  As well as the mandatory management units on professional development, budgeting and of course the old health and safety.

The delivery of the level 4 will be online, with around 6 regional workshops specifically for level 4 candidates over the 2 years period.

If you are interested, we are keen to hear from you, as the level 4 will be run in regional cohorts.
